Bashar Barakah Jackson was born on July 20, 1999, in Brooklyn, New York City. His Jamaican mother, Audrey Jackson, and Panamanian father, Greg Jackson, raised him in a challenging environment.

Growing up in Canarsie, Brooklyn, he attended nine different schools and was expelled from eighth grade for bringing a gun to school. He spent two years under house arrest and later turned to street life after being diagnosed with a heart murmur that ended his basketball aspirations.

His debut mixtape, “Meet the Woo,” dropped in July 2019. Tragically, just days after releasing his second mixtape, “Meet the Woo 2,” Pop Smoke was murdered during a home invasion in Los Angeles.

The men shot Jackson three times after an altercation. The police rushed him to the hospital, but they pronounced him dead few hours later.
